Checking Whether The Social Proofy Pixel Is Installed Correctly

For your Widgets to work correctly, you need to add and verify your Social Proofy Pixel.

In the top left corner of the app, you can see either a Red or a Green dot.

This shows you whether your Pixel is active or not.

Checking Whether The Social Proofy Pixel Is Installed Correctly

If the button is Green: that’s it! You have already installed your Pixel.

If the button is Red: click on it to go to your Pixel page. Here you can find your Pixel and the Pixel checker. To double check whether the Pixel is active on your website or not, click on the “Check” button.

Verify Pixel Button

If the Pixel is installed, the bar will turn green.

Congratulations! You installed the Pixel correctly on your website.

“Pixel not active”, what now?

Does the bar stay white and say “Pixel not active” after you click the “Check” button? This means you haven’t installed your Pixel yet.

You need to take the following steps to double-check if your Pixel is not installed.

Step 1 – Check your Site URL in Social Proofy

The Pixel checker checks if the Pixel is installed at the URL you uploaded to Social Proofy. It can’t verify if there was a typo and the domain was misspelled.

Check the domain you added to Social Proofy by following the steps below:

Part 1 – Go to your Dashboard & Sites page.
Part 2 – If needed, adjust the URL of your website by clicking the Pencil icon.
Edit Sites Social Proofy

Part 3 – Go back to the Pixel checker and click the ‘Check’ button again.

Step 2 – Check your website’s code for the Pixel

If the Pixel checker still can’t find the Pixel on your site, check if the Pixel code has been added to your site correctly.

Part 1 – Open Google Chrome.
Part 2 – Go to your website or the page you want to show Widgets on.
Part 3 – Click View > Developer > Developer Tools > Sources (or press F12 if you are using Windows)

Developer Tools

Part 4 – Look in the list on the left-hand side for ‘app.socialproofy.io’

Developer Tools Sources

You can’t find ‘app.socialproofy.io’ in the list? Your Pixel is not active on your page.

Navigate to the Integrations page and find your website platform.

Go through the guide again and double-check that you followed the steps correctly.

Did that you took all the right steps to add your Pixel, but is it still not installed on your site?

Click the Chat Bubble on the bottom right of this page and ask for assistance.
