Let Users Close Widgets

When showing widgets on your site, you might want to let users close the widgets by clicking on them. This can be for various reasons, maybe your notifications block your content’s website or you set your notifications to be permanent.

To do this, do the following:

Step 1 – Click on the Pencil icon for the widget you want to modify.

Step 2 – Go to the Display tab and toggle ON/OFF the Display Close Button.

Step 3 – Hit Save.

That’s it, your users can now close the Widgets if they wish to.

Should you make closing your Widgets possible?

Letting your users close your Widgets is your shot to call. There’s not a correct answer since each site has different needs. What you do want is for your users to see your notifications. However, there are some situations where it is best if a user can close your Widgets.

Permanent Widgets

If you set up your notifications to be permanent it is best if you let your users close the Widget. This is so that they can navigate your interface with ease and dismiss the Widget when they wish to.

When Widgets block content

When navigating through your store, your users might use different devices. This can make Widgets show in front of different sections of the content on your site. To let your users interact with all the content, it might be a good option to let your visitors to close your Widgets.
